High Fliers of Forty One...
June, with its late nights brought a mottley crew of aged individuals to have a meal at the Leigh Arms followed by a tour of Vale Royal Falconry Centre.
Coupled with actually flying the birds and overseen by the capable white legs of Phil and Nannette (many thanks to them for the evening, only Phil had his legs out... that was enough!)
Really enjoyable night for those who attended, many of whom have not been this close to having a bird on their arm for some years!
Welcome to the blog of Runcorn 41 Club. The club is open to ex members of Runcorn Round Table and all ex Round Tablers looking for an evening in the company of other ex Tablers about once a month. All a Buzz
All a Buzz
Our May meeting was timed just right. Govt talking about pesticides and we had a speaker who came along to talk about Bees and their value to the countryside and our health.
Paul Quigley, who works at Norton Priory Museum is one of the most passionate speakers we have had. His depth and breadth of knowledge and his ability to make things interesting was fantastic. Very well received by all members.
We also had Paul Molley, Area Councillor on the National Committee who came along to tell us what National was doing and what they could do to help all clubs and RT's in the Country.

Well it went well? Decided Iain should be the new chair and that was that, in fact the decision was unanimous, mainly due to the fact that there was no-one else who wanted the job!
Congrats must go to Mike who put in a sterling job for 2 years and kept all the folks entertained as they should be. No-one dropped off, no-one (other than the usual suspects) drew breath to complain. Well Done Mike.
At the end of the evening, to celebrate Iain's appointment, he had prepared a short quiz on the year 1961, the year he was born. Enjoyed by all and winners were Ted and Duncan, obviously everyone's memory of the 60's were impaired because they were too young (laughs too loudly!!)
